Welcome to The Sugar Wood Cattery & Kennel

I, along with my children, live in Chelmsford, a small northern town, in Ontario, Canada.   My Cattery & Kennel is a labour of love with my fur babies raised among my family.

I am a small, Ethical TICA & CFA registered Cattery.   My Maine Coons are a large and integral part of my family.  My Kings are raised and cared for by my son, within his loving home close by.

My Maine Coons are raised among children, friends, family and other well loved pets.  Once Vaccinated, they are walked regularly in public, allowing them to learn how to meet and greet strangers safely and without fear.

My kittens are handled from birth by me, then by family and friends as well, once their immune systems have matured and they are vaccinated. This level of care gives them exceptional confidence and social skills in a safe and healthy environment.  Exposure to other animals, children and strangers is paramount for a well rounded, friendly and healthy personality. I firmly believe that it decreases the stress of our little ones as they go to their new homes among their new loving families.

I do not breed my cats as a source of income.  I own and operate other venues from home all falling under "The Sugar Wood" Umbrella,  The Sugar Wood Specialty Shop (Herbs, Spices & Seasonings etc.), The Sugar Wood Market and The Sugar Wood Cattery and Kennel.  Breeding my Maine Coons is a privilege that I never take for granted. I appreciate their strength, wittiness and love absolutely everything about this breed. I am very proud to be a Maine Coon Owner and breeder.

My Prices are NOT negotiable, they are representative of the outstanding, high quality, kittens that I produce. I work with the finest imported, champion lines and health test them thoroughly.
